Playa del Carmen, MX — A man, apparently in a state of intoxication, suffered an attempted execution this afternoon while at the entrance of the Los Sauces subdivision in the municipality of Puerto Aventuras.
Around 4 p.m., emergency 911 lines received a report of an armed attack on Federal Highway 307, approximately 13 kilometers south of the city of Playa del Carmen.
Municipal Police and paramedics arrived at the scene, providing first aid to the injured man, who was immediately transported to the General Hospital.
The man had two gunshot wounds from a firearm, and his health condition was reported as serious.
Following the incident, the Municipal Police deployed an operation in the area to locate the alleged perpetrators, but so far there are no reports of arrests.
