Mahahual, Quintana Roo — A young man was executed in the early hours of Friday after entering a bar in Mahahual and getting into an argument with another individual who did not hesitate to attack him with a firearm when their dispute escalated from verbal to physical, killing him in front of all present before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred during the first hours of the day when a young man approximately 20 years old entered a bar in Mahahual, located on Huachinango Street between Sierra and Cherna streets, after which he went to sit at a table where another subject who had just arrived after the young man later sat down.
As minutes passed, the two men spoke with each other, however, from one moment to the next they were already wrestling and pushing each other, according to witnesses at the location, until a firearm detonation was heard, after which the killer fled immediately to avoid facing justice. According to those present, the young man had a wound on the right side of his back, where the bullet would have entered.
Given what occurred, the presence of emergency personnel was requested, so Rural Police agents arrived at the site to corroborate the report and then paramedics from the UREM group arrived to provide first aid to the victim, however, after examining him they confirmed the young man’s death.
Therefore, the presence of experts from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) was requested, who were in charge of cordoning off the scene and collecting evidence, one of which was a spent 9-millimeter caliber cartridge. Likewise, they proceeded to collect the body and its subsequent transfer to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) where the legal autopsy will be performed.
It should be mentioned that the young man remained unidentified because he did not have any identification at the time of the incident, and although his phone rang several times while authorities carried out the corresponding procedures, they could not answer it, since manipulating it is prohibited according to investigation protocols.
