Édgar Palma, a lawyer who had built his career through hard work and dedication, was shot multiple times as he returned home with his father in the Miguel de la Madrid neighborhood, just minutes from their house.
According to witness accounts, the father pleaded with the attackers to spare his son. “Kill me, not my son. I’ve already lived,” he reportedly begged. The gunmen ignored his pleas, fired repeatedly at the young professional, and fled the scene on motorcycles.
The State Prosecutor’s Office has not officially confirmed a motive, but sources suggest Palma may have received threats related to legal cases he was handling.
The murder has sparked outrage among lawyers and citizens, who question how a professional can be killed practically at his doorstep with no preventive action from authorities.
