Wild Deer Becomes Regular Visitor at Cancun Hotel Entrance

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A wild deer has become a regular visitor at the entrance of the Haven Riviera Cancun hotel, located on Federal Highway 307, and has partially lost its fear of workers at the property.

Employees say the deer is frequently seen eating leaves or resting near the hotel entrance, south of the Moon Palace resort. Many workers can now approach the animal to take photos without it fleeing.

Wildlife sightings are not uncommon in this area due to its proximity to jungle zones, where coatis and monkeys also appear. However, this particular deer appears to have incorporated the site into its daily routine.

Despite the close contact, staff have avoided adopting the animal or giving it a name, recognizing it as a wild creature that should remain in its natural habitat.
