Quintana Roo on Alert for Tropical Systems

Quintana Roo, Mexico — Meteorological authorities in Quintana Roo are alerting the public to adverse atmospheric conditions that include rainfall and extreme temperatures. The presence of a tropical wave linked to a trough in the Caribbean Sea is generating cloudy skies and scattered rains across the entire state, with thermal sensations reaching 39°C in municipalities such as Lázaro Cárdenas and Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

Coastal Warnings and Atlantic Monitoring

Coastal zones are experiencing winds of up to 40 km/h and wave heights of 4 to 6 feet, increasing the risk for maritime activities.

Simultaneously, in the Atlantic, a low-pressure system located more than 6,500 km from the Mexican peninsula is under surveillance for its cyclonic development potential, though it currently presents a low probability within the next 48 hours and a moderate probability within a week.

Although it is still far from the Caribbean, authorities recommend that residents stay informed through official channels and take precautions during the active hurricane season. This weather scenario reinforces the importance of preparation and constant monitoring for potential climate variations, especially given rising temperatures and the presence of meteorological phenomena that could intensify in the coming weeks, affecting both land and sea activities.
