Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A waiter at La Vaquita bar, located on 5th Avenue, was fatally shot last night after receiving a gunshot wound to the head. The victim died at the General Hospital after being transported there immediately following the incident.
The event occurred around 10:30 p.m. when a code red was activated at the bar on 12th Street. An individual arrived and fired a weapon at one of the employees who was outside the establishment.
The worker was shot in the head, causing him to collapse and fall face down on the ground, where he was found by authorities who immediately requested an ambulance to transport him to the hospital.
Personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and searched for the suspect, who allegedly fled toward the beach.
Subsequently, staff from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived in the zone to collect shell casings and gather all necessary evidence to clarify the facts of the case.
