Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Autonomous University of the State of Quintana Roo (UQROO) will maintain zero tuition payments for regular students across its various undergraduate and engineering programs offered at its campuses throughout the state.
This follows the publication of the list of fees that students must pay when using the various services provided by the institution, according to what was published in the Official Gazette of the State of Quintana Roo.
The new fee schedule approved by the UQROO University Council on November 27 for the 2026 fiscal year consists of 88 concepts for which collection will be made for providing services.
Only new students will have to pay the initial enrollment fee of 780 pesos, a single initial payment for the duration of their student stay at the state’s highest educational institution, provided they remain as regular students.
According to the consulted document, this cost remains the same as what was applied during 2025. The institution will mark five years without making these types of charges for enrollment in regular cycles, meaning it benefits students who have not had to suspend their studies.
However, for the coming year, there are slight increases in other areas, such as the payment for the right to take the admission exam of the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (Ceneval), which increased from 850 pesos to 1,100 pesos. The new fee schedule will begin to be applied in the first months of 2026.
