Cancún, Mexico — Two men arrested in connection with a violent attack on a baby in Cancún are now suspected of involvement in multiple homicides and armed robberies that have shaken the city. The arrests of Bryan "N," alias "El Pollo," 25, and Joan "N," also known as Joshua, 23, follow a series of police operations linking them to a spree of crimes, including murders, attempted killings, and violent commercial robberies.
Alleged Involvement in July Shooting
One of the most serious incidents tied to the suspects is the July 25 armed attack in Supermanzana 240, where Jorge Anuar was killed and his 10-month-old daughter was critically injured. According to the Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office, a Taurus 9mm pistol—exclusive to military use—was seized from the suspects and matched at least four violent incidents between July 20 and 25.
String of Robberies Uncovered
The suspects' criminal history also includes a July 28 robbery at a jewelry store in Supermanzana 59. Surveillance footage showed both men entering the store dressed in black, wearing helmets, and brandishing firearms. While one intimidated employees, the other smashed display cases to steal gold-plated and silver jewelry. Part of the stolen goods was later recovered during a search in Supermanzana 103.
Arrest and Investigation
Joan was intercepted in Supermanzana 107 riding an unlicensed motorcycle. His aggressive behavior during the stop prompted authorities to expand their investigation. It was later discovered that he worked as a delivery driver for a digital platform, which allegedly allowed him to scout potential robbery targets and study business routines.
Both suspects remain in preventive detention, facing charges for four homicides, two attempted murders, and multiple robberies. Prosecutors continue gathering evidence to present the case before a judge, seeking justice for all victims—particularly the infant still recovering from her injuries.
