Tulum, Quintana Roo — A judge has ordered two men to stand trial for their alleged involvement in a shooting that left one person critically injured in this coastal resort town.

Prosecutors presented sufficient evidence during a hearing to link the suspects to the attack, which authorities are treating as attempted murder. The victims identity has not been released.

The judge imposed pretrial detention on both defendants while the investigation continues. Officials said they are working to strengthen the case and determine the full circumstances of the shooting.
