Two Men Killed, Teen Wounded in Cancun Shooting Attack
Cancun, Quintana Roo — Two men were killed and a 13-year-old boy was wounded in a brazen shooting Friday night in the Supermanzana 219 neighborhood, authorities said.
Gunmen on a motorcycle arrived at a home on Calle 64 between Calles 95 and 97 and opened fire on three people, according to police. Witnesses reported hearing at least seven shots and called 911.
Paramedics found one man dead on the pavement and a second dead inside the house. The teenager, who suffered gunshot wounds to the back and a leg, was rushed to the General Hospital in serious condition.
A large-scale search operation involving all three levels of government was launched after a Code Red alert, but no arrests were made.
The State Prosecutor’s Office said the attack is linked to drug dealing. The same house was targeted in a shooting two months ago that left one man injured, and investigators believe the property may have been used for illicit activities.
Forensic experts collected shell casings at the scene. The victims have not been identified.
