Cancún, Quintana Roo — Hard Rock Hotel Cancún and Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta have temporarily closed their doors this summer for extensive renovations, with both properties expected to reopen at the end of December. Reservations for the 2026/2027 winter season are now open at both all-inclusive resorts.
The renovations include redesigned guest rooms, renewed public spaces, new meeting and convention facilities, and updated music event exhibits. The beachfront wedding chapel at the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta will also undergo renovations.
The closures come amid a decline in Mexico travel sales attributed to factors including security concerns and, in the Caribbean region, persistent sargassum seaweed. Other Hard Rock properties in Mexico—including those in Los Cabos and the Riviera Maya—remain open, as does the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which has seen record tourism growth driven by aggressive promotion efforts.
