Tulum, Quintana Roo — Yoga studios, musicians and wellness practitioners across Tulum will join forces for a week of classes, workshops and community events during the Tulum Yoga Music Fest, scheduled for Sept. 21 through 27.
Rather than placing the entire festival at one site, organizers plan to spread the weekday program across yoga studios, spas, cultural spaces and other participating venues throughout Tulum. The week will culminate with a full-day gathering at Oasis Tulum in La Veleta on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Activities are expected to include yoga and movement classes, talks, workshops, kirtan, live conscious music, healing arts and community gatherings. The format is intended to give residents and visitors an opportunity to experience different parts of Tulum’s yoga and wellness community over several days.
Teachers and musicians announced
The preliminary teaching lineup includes Jay Hari, Swami Vishnu, Yosef Zur, José Troche and festival organizer Narayani Golden.
Musicians and conscious-music performers announced so far include Ganesh Atom Rose, Red Monk, Skywalker, Andros and Shivan. Additional teachers, artists and facilitators are expected to be added as the schedule is completed.
“We want to create an event that reflects the diverse yoga community in Tulum, the teachers, musicians, artists, practitioners and people who have been building this community for years, and bring everyone together for one week,” Golden said.
Events planned across Tulum
Conference Week will run from Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 25, with individual activities hosted at participating locations around the city.
Organizers have listed Holistika, Quantika Spa, The Space, Lokah, Shakti Temple, Ashtanga Yoga Tulum, Kuul Beach Club, Vortex Vitality, Ganesha’s Lounge, Kan, Vesica, Azulik, Bikram Yoga Tulum, Vikings Fit Club, Vivedharma and Bliss Tulum among the participating venues and partners.
Other organizations named by the festival include Tulum Despierta, Unite, Younique, Qwalla, Ezens and Xieltun. The organizers also list an alliance with the Tulum municipal government.
The decentralized format could make the festival accessible to people interested in attending one class or performance rather than committing to an entire week. It also allows participating studios and practitioners to introduce their work to a wider local audience.
However, the complete venue-by-venue schedule had not been published as of Sept. 17. Organizers were still recruiting teachers, facilitators, vendors, affiliates and additional venues in recent social media posts.
Main festival day in La Veleta
The largest gathering is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at Oasis Tulum in La Veleta.
Organizers say the event will bring together yoga teachers, musicians, artists and wellness practitioners for a full day of programming. Specific class times, performance schedules and admission details have not yet been announced.
Although the festival is advertised as running through Sunday, Sept. 27, the preliminary announcement does not specify what programming will take place that day.
Ticket prices, registration procedures and information about which weekday activities will be free or separately priced also remain pending. Anyone planning to attend should confirm details before traveling to a venue, as individual classes and workshops may have different capacity limits or reservation requirements.
Connecting visitors with Tulum’s wellness community
Tulum has developed an international reputation for yoga retreats, meditation, sound healing and other wellness experiences. Much of that activity, however, takes place in separate studios, hotels and retreat centers.
The festival is intended to bring those communities into a shared program while giving local residents a larger role alongside visiting teachers and performers.
That community focus may distinguish it from the destination’s higher-priced retreat model. Instead of limiting activities to guests staying at one resort, the week is designed to move through established spaces around Tulum before gathering participants in La Veleta for the main event.
The Tulum Yoga Music Fest runs Sept. 21 through 27, with Conference Week scheduled for Sept. 21 to 25 and the principal festival gathering taking place Sept. 26 at Oasis Tulum.
Program updates are being published through the festival’s Instagram account. Organizers can also be contacted through WhatsApp at +1 760-469-1085.
