Tulum, Mexico — With a total of 100 direct and 250 indirect jobs created, Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo attended the inauguration of the second branch of the supermarket chain Súper Akí, emphasizing the importance of attracting investments that improve residents’ quality of life.
Public-Private Collaboration for Economic Growth
“It is a great pleasure for us, as the municipal government, to collaborate with the private sector, as they generate employment and elevate opportunities for everyone. We want Tulum to grow and continue advancing toward a fair and balanced transformation,” said Castañón Trejo during the event.
The mayor urged store executives to consider local producers—who offer high-quality goods—as direct suppliers, eliminating intermediaries and strengthening the circular economy.
David Rodríguez, Quintana Roo regional manager, thanked municipal authorities for facilitating the store’s opening. “We want this branch to be one of the best. For our part, we will always work hand in hand with authorities and the community to contribute positively,” he stated.
Expansion and Economic Impact
This opening marks Súper Akí’s 52nd location in the Yucatán Peninsula. Under its philosophy, “We grow committed to all,” the store offers wholesale pricing starting with just three items, benefiting household budgets.
The Tulum government reaffirmed its commitment to economic and social development by fostering investments that create jobs and support local producers.
