Tizimin, Yucatan — Concern has grown among residents of Tizimin after the reappearance of a Telegram group called “Tizimin Secretos Oficial,” which users allege is used to exchange intimate photographs of women without their consent.

According to complaints posted online, access to the group is reportedly conditioned on sharing private images of women or providing links to their social media profiles — a practice that could enable digital violence, harassment, and privacy violations.

The situation has sparked outrage because it is not the first time such a complaint has emerged in the municipality. A similar case was reported months ago, generating widespread social rejection and reigniting debate about privacy protection on digital platforms.

Experts and authorities have warned that sharing intimate content without authorization can cause serious personal, family, professional, and emotional harm to victims, and may constitute a criminal offense.

Citizens are urging the public not to participate in such groups, avoid sharing intimate material, and report any content that attacks people’s dignity and rights, in order to prevent more women from becoming victims of digital violence.
