Suspect in 2013 Puerto Vallarta Murder Captured in Cancún After Decade-Long Search

Police arrest of Marco Antonio N in Cancún for 2013 Puerto Vallarta murder case

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A man accused of participating in a 2013 murder in Puerto Vallarta was arrested in Cancún this week, ending a decade-long search that spanned two Mexican states.

The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of Marco Antonio “N,” who had an active arrest warrant for aggravated homicide issued by the First Criminal Court of the Twenty-Seventh Judicial District in Puerto Vallarta.

Authorities said the arrest resulted from intelligence work and coordination between Jalisco and Quintana Roo officials.

According to investigators, the crime dates back to May 23, 2013, when the suspect allegedly participated with others in the murder of a man outside his business. Authorities believe the attackers were hired to commit the crime and shot the victim multiple times.

Two other suspects in the case had already been arrested previously, making Marco Antonio “N” the third person detained in connection with the 2013 murder.

The suspect will be transferred to Jalisco in the coming hours to face the court that issued the arrest warrant.
