Cancun, Quintana Roo — The State Prosecutor’s Office announced the dismantling of two marijuana greenhouses during an operation in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, resulting in seven arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and a vehicle.
Investigative police officers, working with the Interinstitutional Group, carried out the raids. The operation was linked to an attack on July 22 in southern Benito Juarez that injured a drug unit commander.
The greenhouses were used to produce and package marijuana for distribution in both cities, according to authorities.
Prosecutor Raciel López Salazar identified the main target as Víctor Teodoro “N,” alias “El Tata,” a suspected member of a violent criminal group responsible for coordinating marijuana distribution in the area.
During the operation, officers seized quantities of marijuana, cell phones, three firearms, magazines, ammunition, and a red Honda CR-V used by the suspects.
The seven detainees were taken into custody in Benito Juarez (Cancun):

- Jaime “N”
- Johani “N”
- Uziel “N”
- José Luis “N”
- Alexander “N”
- Diego Alberto “N”
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Víctor Teodoro “N” carried a firearm with two loaded magazines, and Jaime “N” had a black handgun. Both weapons are reserved for the exclusive use of the military.
The suspects and all evidence were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status within the constitutional timeframe.
