Tulum, Mexico — The Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) has announced new public and free access points to the beaches of Tulum. This initiative is part of a federal strategy to guarantee free entry to coastal zones within the Protected Natural Area (ANP) known as Jaguar Park.

The head of the department, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, reported that several access points are already enabled, in compliance with the instruction of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Currently, the southern access to Jaguar Park is already in operation, while the traditional access point will be available in the coming days.

These are joined by two new entry points located in the hotel zone, specifically at the beaches known as "Conchitas" and "Del Pueblo," at kilometers 4.5 and 5.5 of the coastal highway.

The official emphasized that the primary objective is to ensure that both national and international visitors can enjoy the beaches without any cost, while respecting the guidelines of the ANP and prioritizing sustainable tourism development. She also reiterated that "no visitor should have to pay to access the beaches at any time of the year."

Furthermore, a unified fee scheme was confirmed for those visiting Jaguar Park and the Tulum Archaeological Zone. These fees will be in effect from mid-November to December, with differentiated rates for nationals and foreigners, while access to Jaguar Park on Sundays will remain free.

On Sundays, access will be maintained with a fee of 60 pesos for national visitors and 220 pesos for foreigners who wish to enter the Archaeological Zone. Those who only wish to enjoy the experiences of Jaguar Park will be able to do so free of charge on that day.

The measures were agreed upon in working meetings between federal, state, and municipal authorities and tourism service providers. Sectur reiterated that residents of Tulum will maintain free access all year round.

With this action, Sectur announces new public and free access points to the beaches of Tulum, strengthening the citizens' right to enjoy the country's coastlines.
