Cancún, Mexico — Approximately 100 students from the School of Artistic Initiation Associated with INBAL Cancún lived a Sunday filled with magic and inspiration after being invited by renowned conductor Alondra de la Parra to attend the special concert Sinfonía Familiar, which marked the closing of the Paax GNP 2025 Festival.
The children, aged 6 to 12, attended the event accompanied by their teachers and caregivers, enjoying a unique performance by La Orquesta Imposible under De la Parra’s direction. The program featured standout performances by pianist Thomas Enhco, singer Neïma Naouri, and Robbie Fairchild, known for his talents as a singer and dancer, who united their voices and skills in a moving rendition of Gershwin’s La vida en azul.
A Celebration of Young Talent
One of the most significant moments came with the performance by members of the Armonía Social program, which has grown to include nearly 250 young talents. They interpreted various works by Mexican composer Manuel Esperón, later joined by new participants from Kanasín, Yucatán, further enriching the event.
The afternoon’s surprise came from María del Carmen Virgilio, a young composer and member of Armonía Social, who presented her piece Así te veo Yucatán. The work received its world premiere, performed by singer Josselyn Pérez, captivating all attendees.
The concert concluded with José Pablo Moncayo’s iconic Huapango, sealing a day filled with art, emotion, and a profound sense of community.
A Touching Gesture
In a heartfelt moment, the students of the School of Artistic Initiation, alongside Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta, presented Alondra de la Parra with drawings featuring special dedications as a token of gratitude.
Enthusiastic reactions from the young attendees reflected the unforgettable experience. "I really liked the concert—it felt like I was in the clouds watching musical notes in front of me," said Ángel Santiago. "What I loved most was the children’s band," added Nicolás.
Undoubtedly, the event planted seeds of artistic inspiration in the next generation.
