Remodeled Health Centers in Playa del Carmen to Transfer to DIF System

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Two health centers in the Colosio and Nicte-Ha neighborhoods have completed renovations and will be transferred from the Municipal Health Department to the DIF Playa del Carmen system, officials announced.

Antonio Uribe Trujillo, head of the Municipal Health Department, said the change is due to jurisdictional issues and aims to improve coordination of specialized services.

The Nicte-Ha health center specializes in mental health, while the Nueva Creación unit focuses on reproductive and women’s health. Uribe Trujillo noted that these units have responsibilities that fall outside the department’s operational capacity for disease prevention and health promotion.

Uribe Trujillo confirmed that the “Salud sin tanto Choro” program will continue under the Health Department due to its success.
