Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Mobility Institute (Imoveqroo) has issued new rules governing golf-cart-style vehicles used for public rental transport across the state.
The agreement, published Sept. 17 in the state’s Official Gazette, sets out the format of a certificate that will confirm each unit passed its required vehicle inspection. Officials also approved the design of a numbered sticker that will form a physical part of the certificate and allow authorities to identify carts that completed the review.
The provisions lay out procedures for issuing, assigning, placing, conserving, controlling, replacing and canceling the stickers for golf carts used in rental service.
The measure applies specifically to golf-cart-type vehicles dedicated to the public rental transport of all classes of vehicles, according to the official publication. It appeared in Volume III, extraordinary issue No. 171, Tenth Era, of the Official Gazette, published in Chetumal on Sept. 17, 2026.
Under the agreement, the golf carts covered by the rules must carry the elements established by Imoveqroo to prove they passed the vehicle inspection and to keep their identification under control.
