Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The government of Quintana Roo has announced the sixth edition of the state short film contest “Transparencia en Corto 2026,” calling on young people to explore the risks of artificial intelligence-driven disinformation.

The contest, organized by the Secretariat of the Comptroller of Quintana Roo in coordination with the Secretariat for Anti-Corruption and Good Governance, seeks to raise awareness about false information generated by AI, including deepfakes, fake profiles, and manipulated content.

Participants aged 15 to 25 can enter individually or in teams, using accessible tools such as smartphones or digital cameras. The competition features two categories: a short film of up to 90 seconds and a 15-second microvideo designed for platforms like TikTok or Instagram Reels.

State-level prizes include 12,000 pesos (about $600) for first place, 10,000 pesos for second, and 8,000 pesos for third. Winners will also advance to the national stage, where top prizes reach up to 60,000 pesos.

Entries must address the theme “Disinformation: Risks of AI” and propose ethical solutions. Full contest rules are available on the official Quintana Roo government website.
