Quintana Roo Governor Invites Tulum Jaguar Park Vendors to Register for Certification

Tulum, Quintana Roo — Quintana Roo Gov. Mara Lezama Espinosa is urging tourism service providers at Tulum’s Jaguar Park to sign up for a professionalization and certification program launched under the state’s Tulum Renace initiative.

Registration is taking place Thursday and Friday, Sept. 17 and 18, at the Hotel Grupo Mundo Maya in Tulum, where providers will have their photograph taken as part of the process. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The process is open only to those who operate inside the park, including artisans and providers of food, beverages, paramedic services and medical care.

Lezama said the initiative stems from talks with President Claudia Sheinbaum and forms part of Tulum Renace, a program announced on July 17 that promotes a range of measures to address the needs of the national park and the surrounding tourism destination.

“If you are a tourism service provider, come,” the governor said, calling on people working in tourism at the Jaguar Park to take advantage of the registration drive and the broader professionalization and certification plan.

Providers who cannot attend in person may instead email a digital photograph. The photo must be in color, on a white background, in JPG or PNG format and no larger than five megabytes.

The effort to build a registry of tourism service providers at the Jaguar Park is being carried out in coordination with the federal government, the Tourism Ministry (SECTUR), the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), Mundo Maya and the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), Lezama said.
