Children participating in the Drawing Democracy contest organized by the Quintana Roo Electoral Institute

Chetumal. The General Council of the Quintana Roo Electoral Institute (IEQROO) has approved the rules for the fifth edition of the Drawing Democracy contest, a space aimed at girls and boys to express, through art, their vision of civic education and democratic values.

The competition is aimed at children between 3 and 12 years of age, who can participate in the different categories established according to their age range. The call seeks to foster principles such as participation, respect, equality, and democratic coexistence from childhood.

According to what was approved by the General Council, the deadline for receiving entries will be from February 3 to April 10, 2026. Drawings can be submitted physically or virtually, in the latter case in PDF format, via email at concurso.ieqroo@gmail.com.

With this contest, the IEQROO reaffirms its commitment to promoting civic and democratic culture among Quintana Roo’s youth, fostering spaces for expression that contribute to citizenship formation from an early age.
