Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Authorities in Quintana Roo are searching for a 22-year-old woman and her 2-year-old son who were reported missing after traveling from Valladolid, Yucatán, to Cancún and Isla Mujeres.

The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office is looking for Fátima Dayana Cen Guzmán and her son, Dylan Gabriel Cen Guzmán. Relatives last saw the pair on September 16 and have had no information about their whereabouts since.

Family members asked the authorities to step in and activate the corresponding search protocols.

On September 28, the prosecutor’s office issued Amber Alert 187/FDN/2026 for the boy and activated Alba Protocol 207/FDN/2026 for his mother. Both mechanisms remain in effect as officials try to gather information on where the two may be.

According to information released in the search notices, the young woman is believed to have traveled with her son from Valladolid, Yucatán, toward Cancún and Isla Mujeres.

Case Adds to Other Isla Mujeres Disappearances

The search comes amid other missing-person reports linked to Isla Mujeres, including that of René Alfonso Miam Poot, who was last seen on July 24, 2023, at the facilities of the Makax cooperative after being taken there by motorcycle from the historic center.

As part of that investigation, prosecutor’s office diving specialists searched for human remains in the Salina Grande on July 17, 2024, at the request of members of the Madres Buscadoras de Isla Mujeres, a group of mothers searching for missing relatives. A later operation covered the opposite end of the lagoon and the Makax area, but relatives said the searches ended without results.

Deysi Blanco Chi, mother of Fernanda Cayetana Canul Blanco, who disappeared on July 21, 2022, in Ciudad Mujeres, took part in those efforts. She has continued searching for her daughter and has asked for information on other disappearance cases recorded in both Isla Mujeres and Benito Juárez.

María Elizabeth Poot Pech, mother of René Alfonso Miam Poot, has also joined the searches and has called for investigators to expand their inquiries to identify the two people who, according to relatives, were with her son when he was taken by motorcycle.

While those investigations continue, authorities are keeping the search for Fátima Dayana and Dylan Gabriel active in hopes of locating them.
