Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The municipality of Puerto Aventuras is prepared for the upcoming hurricane season, with temporary shelters in optimal condition to accommodate residents if needed, Mayor Gilberto Gómez Martínez announced.

Gómez Martínez said that recent cleaning and maintenance work has been carried out on the community’s absorption wells as part of preventive measures to reduce risks from potential heavy rains or hydrometeorological events.

The marina in this area of Playa del Carmen has its own committee to coordinate the protection of vessels during the cyclone season, he explained.

If any weather system poses a threat to the region, authorities will maintain close coordination with marina officials as well as municipal and state agencies responsible for civil protection and emergency response, the mayor added.

Gómez Martínez reiterated that local authorities are continuously monitoring weather conditions and urged the public to stay informed through official channels to follow any preventive recommendations promptly.
