Prosecutors Raid Home in Puerto Maya, Puerto Aventuras

Security personnel and patrol vehicles lined up along a residential street in Puerto Maya, Puerto Aventuras, during an overnight raid

Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — A new raid was carried out in the Puerto Maya subdivision in the Puerto Aventuras district, coordinated by the State Prosecutor’s Office with support from the National Guard and the Mexican Army, allegedly at the home of a man who had been arrested previously.

The operation unfolded around 1 a.m. on Tzalam Street, between Copte and Tdzi streets, when the contingent of authorities closed off the roadway, startling neighbors who quickly began discussing the scene in WhatsApp groups.

The operation was led by State Prosecutor’s Office personnel, who entered the property where a person had reportedly been detained days earlier. So far, officials have not disclosed what was seized.

The proceedings lasted more than an hour. When they finished, the house was cordoned off and sealed as part of the procedure carried out in this type of raid, several of which have taken place in different parts of Playa del Carmen in recent days.
