Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Pro-Am tournament for the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba 2026 will take place Wednesday, April 29, bringing together professional golfers and amateur celebrities on the iconic El Camaleón course.
The LPGA event features world No. 1 Nelly Korda and nine Mexican players aiming to make history at Mayakoba. In last year’s edition, only María Fassi made the cut among the Mexican contingent.
Mexican professionals participating in the Pro-Am include Ana Jiménez, Alejandra Llaneza, and Andrea Sotos.
Lorena Ochoa, the honorary guest at the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba 2026 opening ceremony, thanked organizers for recognizing her career and offered advice to the nine Mexican competitors and future generations.
“Feel relaxed. Last year was a great learning experience for everyone. You always carry that extra pressure of being a local player… Watching a live tournament changes your mindset and invites you to dream,” Ochoa said.
