Police Seize Drugs and Documents During Two Raids in Cancun

Cancun, Quintana Roo — State investigative police and federal forces carried out two raids Wednesday afternoon at properties in Cancun as part of investigations into homicides and drug dealing.

The first operation took place at an apartment in the Catania residential complex, in Supermanzana 319. During the search, investigators seized documents belonging to various individuals, as well as small packages containing suspected drugs. The items were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The second raid was conducted at a home on Calle 12 de Diciembre, at the corner of Avenida Niños Héroes, in Supermanzana 217. Preliminary reports indicate the search stemmed from a probe into drug-dealing offenses.

In both operations, state investigative police were supported by the Mexican Army, Navy, and National Guard, who maintained a perimeter security while the searches were underway. After the raids concluded, the two properties were secured and placed under the custody of the State Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any arrests were made or the quantity of suspected drugs seized in the second home.
