Photo Exhibition Showcases Biodiversity of Tulum National Park

Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Museo Regional de la Costa Oriental has opened a photographic exhibition dedicated to the natural richness of Tulum National Park, aiming to introduce the public to the biodiversity of this protected area. The display is part of the fourth-anniversary celebrations of the Jaguar Flora and Fauna Protection Area and will be open only this week.

The exhibition brings together 15 images captured during monitoring protocols conducted by staff from the Tulum National Park–National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP). The photographs document various plant and animal species living in the ecosystem, including the ocellated turkey, keel-billed toucan, lineated woodpecker, ferruginous pygmy owl, white ibis, northern cardinal, and monarch butterfly, as well as representative plants, fungi, and landscapes of the region.

The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) emphasized that the exhibition seeks to strengthen the link between natural heritage conservation and cultural heritage, considering both as part of the territory’s identity and history. The institution noted that learning about and valuing these spaces helps promote their protection among the public and visitors.

The exhibition is installed in the Tunich Hall of the Museo Regional de la Costa Oriental and can be visited Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because it will remain open only this week, authorities invited residents and tourists to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the biological diversity that characterizes Tulum National Park.
