Playa del Carmen, Mexico — As part of a strategy to reinforce the campaign against disease-carrying mosquitoes, the Municipal Secretary of Health, José Antonio Uribe Trujillo, announced the deployment and reinforcement of nebulization and debris-removal brigades in neighborhoods and subdivisions across the city, with the support of the Secretariat of Public Services.
“These preventive actions are fundamental to caring for our families. Health is a right, and together, citizens and government, we can guarantee a safer environment,” the official emphasized.
In this regard, he released the nebulization schedule so families can keep their doors and windows open during the passage of the dispersal vehicles:

Furthermore, he recommended the public eliminate containers with accumulated water and any object that could serve as a breeding ground for larvae of mosquitoes that transmit diseases such as dengue, zika, and chikungunya.
Uribe Trujillo stressed that citizen participation is key: “Prevention is everyone's task, and the sum of our efforts will allow us to reduce risks and protect the health of those we love most.”
As part of the same strategy, the Municipal Secretary of Public Services, Julieta Martín, indicated that an intense debris-removal campaign is projected for this month of October in different city neighborhoods, with a goal of collecting a total of 140 tons of waste.
In this sense, she announced that the campaigns will take place on Tuesday, October 7, in the fraccionamientos Guadalupana and El Petén; on the 14th in the colonia Luis Donaldo Colosio; on the 21st in the colonia Ejido; and on the 28th in the colonia Nicte-Há.
These actions will include the participation of municipal brigades, reinforcing urban cleaning and prevention measures against the mosquito that transmits dengue, for the benefit of all Playa del Carmen families.
