Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Planetario Ka’Yok’ in Cancun has opened registration for its 2026 Summer Course, offering children the chance to explore robotics, astronomy, science, and environmental education in a safe, limited-capacity setting.

Adriana Barrera Ugalde, head of Public Relations and Outreach at the planetarium, announced that the course will run from July 20 to August 14 and is designed for children aged 6 to 12. Only 35 participants will be accepted, and she urged parents to register as soon as possible.

Activities include robotics workshops, astronomical observation, simple machines, physical activation, environmental education, telescope handling, and immersive shows in the 360-degree digital dome. Specialists from the Institute of Sports and Isla Contoy will lead sessions on biodiversity, marine species, and birds.

Registration is available in person at the Planetario Ka’Yok’ from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Parents must present an official ID and inform staff of any allergies or special needs, as the program includes inclusive care.

The course runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with no outings from the facility, which has trained first-aid and civil protection personnel. A 50% discount is offered for a second sibling. During the summer, the planetarium will also host public events, including a commemoration of the Apollo 11 mission anniversary on July 17.
