As the first rays of the Caribbean sun hit Delphin Beach, over 200 people took part in a beach fitness class. The event was organized by the Municipal Secretary of Tourism in Cancun to mark International Tourism Day.
Pablo de Zulueta Razo, the head of the Secretariat, explained the aim was to encourage sports tourism. The goal is to get visitors to experience Cancun actively, not just by enjoying the landscapes and culture, but also by taking care of their health through functional training on the beaches.
The official emphasized that incorporating exercise and physical activity into a tourist's experience not only enhances their quality of life but also benefits the destination. It attracts more tourists who appreciate healthy activities.
The fitness class was led by specialized coaches from various companies including Elite Zenter, Lift Cancun, and Jazzercise Cancun. These professionals guided participants through exercises designed to rejuvenate their bodies and equip them with renewed energy for the day's challenges. The event also included immersion in ice tubs, a practice known to aid muscle recovery and boost the immune system.
