Mahahual, Quintana Roo — Mexican Navy personnel seized 15 packages of suspected marijuana during a patrol near a beach in Mahahual, authorities announced on Wednesday.
The discovery occurred during routine surveillance operations conducted by Marine Infantry personnel, who spotted the suspicious packages and immediately secured them.
The operation involved coordinated efforts between federal, state, and municipal agencies, including the Mexican Army, National Guard, State Prosecutor’s Office, and Public Security Department, along with aerial and surface units from the Mexican Navy deployed in the area.
Authorities did not specify the total weight of the suspected drugs or whether any arrests resulted from the operation.
The Navy stated that these operations are part of ongoing surveillance efforts in Quintana Roo aimed at deterring illegal activities and enhancing security in the region.
