Quintana Roo, Mexico — Meliá Hotels International has announced that its expansion plans include growing the ZEL brand, which will feature the opening of four new resorts, including one in Cozumel, demonstrating the importance of the Mexican Caribbean in its portfolio that will encompass 51 brands in various international destinations.

Through the group’s official website, it was reported that Meliá will prioritize the world’s most sought-after destinations and the luxury segment, both in new hotels being incorporated and in the repositioning policy that will see a total of 28 establishments opened throughout 2026.

In fact, the close of the past fiscal year was very positive for the corporation, meeting market expectations financially, hence its expansion plans focus on adding nearly 9,200 rooms with openings in the Mediterranean, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia.

It should be noted that among its recent brands, the growth of ZEL stands out, which will open its new hotels in Madrid, Cozumel, Fuerteventura, and Crete, and The Meliá Collection, with unique resorts in exclusive destinations such as Lima, Mallorca, and Cádiz, in addition to the MiM hotel portfolio.

In this way, Meliá continues diversifying its portfolio to attract different customer segments and thus expands the presence of its most emblematic brands, including Meliá Maldivas Whale Lagoon and Meliá Seychelles, with the concept of family resorts par excellence.
