Second Shooting at Cancún Bar Leaves Worker Injured

Cancún, Mexico — Masked individuals entered the “Las Muñecas de Choky” restaurant-bar this afternoon and fired multiple shots, wounding one worker at the establishment located in Region 230.

According to witnesses, the assailants fled toward the Plaza de la Tecnología, prompting a large police operation in the area that yielded no results.

Employees stated that two individuals arrived on a motorcycle and fired at least four shots inside the establishment.

One bullet struck a worker identified as Bartolo “N,” who was taken to the General Hospital by his own means after sustaining an arm wound.

Forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office later collected four spent shell casings found at the scene.

Given the characteristics of this criminal act, the attack is presumed to be related to extortion demands known as “derecho de piso.”

This marks the second attack on this bar, as it was also targeted in a shooting during the early hours of December 24, which resulted only in material damage.
