Influencer says Pablo Montero assaulted her, skipped bill

Mexico City — Influencer Elda María has accused Mexican singer and actor Pablo Montero of assaulting her after she refused to engage in intimacy with him. Separately, another woman has filed a formal complaint against Montero with authorities in Quintana Roo.

According to reports from the television program Venga la Alegría, Elda María, known on social media for her past relationship with Rafa Mercadante, filed a complaint with the Mexico City Attorney General's Office. She alleged that Montero became aggressive after she declined his advances.

Elda María also claimed that Montero refused to pay the bill during their outing at the upscale restaurant Rosa Negra.

"We went to Rosa Negra, and he ordered his favorite ceviche and a mezcal cocktail. I had a tequila. When the bill came, he went to the bathroom, and I thought, ‘This guy probably isn’t going to pay.’ The waiter told me, ‘Oh, Pablo isn’t going to pay,’" she recounted.

"He came back and asked, ‘Is the bill paid?’ I said, ‘No, you pay it.’ He tried his card twice, but it was blocked, so I ended up paying. He didn’t pay. He doesn’t like paying—he loves having others cover everything for him," she added.

Previous Accusations Against Montero

This is not the first time Montero has faced allegations of skipping out on restaurant bills. In April 2024, a Facebook user named Monse Adeur Zenitram accused him of leaving a restaurant in Playa del Carmen without paying.

"I happened to see this man, Don Pablo Montero, at Los Aguachiles in Playa del Carmen. If someone told me this story, I wouldn’t believe it—he left without paying, taking advantage of the waiters’ distraction. How shameless," Zenitram wrote in her post, which included a photo of Montero smiling with a woman.

She expressed frustration over the incident, particularly sympathizing with the waiter who was left to cover the unpaid bill.

"Seeing the waiter’s face of frustration—it’s hard-earned money, and then there are people like this guy," she added.

Pablo Montero, a well-known ranchera singer and telenovela actor, has yet to publicly respond to the latest allegations.
