Yucatán, Mexico — The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Yucatán has dispatched two Mobile Medical Units and two institutional vehicles to provide support and solidarity to families affected by intense rainfall. The deployment was carried out under the instructions of the institute's general director, Zoé Robledo.
The convoy is destined for Álamo, Veracruz, an area severely impacted by heavy flooding. Traveling with the vehicles are 16 personnel, including medical staff, nursing staff, civil protection personnel, and cleaning and hygiene workers.
These two mobile units serve as flexible and rapidly deployable medical infrastructure, enabling health services to reach the most remote areas. They are equipped to offer urgent medical consultations for injured or ill individuals, and can also treat minor wounds, dehydration, and respiratory and/or gastrointestinal infections.
The state delegate, Dr. Alonso Sansores Río, expressed his gratitude to the personnel who volunteered for this relief effort. "I thank the staff who, on a voluntary basis, raised their hands to join this chain of help," he stated. "With great commitment and vocation, they will travel 16 hours to support and provide medical assistance to our Veracruz brothers and sisters in this time of contingency."
Dr. Sansores Río concluded by affirming, "The IMSS is present where it is most needed."
