Cancún, Quintana Roo — Hyatt Zilara Cancún reopened its doors after a 13-month closure and an $80 million renovation that overhauled the adults-only, all-inclusive resort’s suites, restaurants and wellness facilities.

Set between the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupté lagoon in the city’s Hotel Zone, the property is part of Hyatt Inclusive Collection and now features contemporary interiors that draw on the region’s mangroves, reefs and natural landscapes. The redesign covers furniture, equipment and common areas, combining organic textures, warm tones and artisanal details.

All 310 Suites Renovated

The hotel’s 310 suites have been remodeled and offer views of the sea, the lagoon or the resort grounds. Its position lets guests watch sunrise over the Caribbean and sunset over the Nichupté lagoon. Outdoors, the property added an infinity pool with a swim-up bar, along with spaces designed around the coastal setting.

Evening options include Bokeh, a speakeasy-style bar with an intimate atmosphere, and the vaulted Highlights space inside it.

14 Restaurants and Bars

The resort’s culinary lineup now spans 14 restaurants and bars, ranging from Mexican cooking to Italian and Asian specialties. Offerings include live cooking stations, teppanyaki, wine, beer and cocktails, with options for outdoor dinners, casual gatherings and more formal dining.

Maya-Inspired Spa

The renovated Zen Spa draws on the four cardinal directions of Maya cosmology. The facility covers more than 2,000 square meters and includes 11 treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge with a terrace and a hydrotherapy circuit, with a focus on relaxation and physical and mental balance.

Hiring and Renovation Workforce

The reopening also carries an employment impact. Hyatt Zilara Cancún currently employs 570 people, 300 of them on permanent contracts and 270 on temporary ones, according to the resort. At the peak of the construction work, between 1,500 and 2,000 workers took part in the renovation.

Meetings, Weddings and Events

Beyond leisure stays, the resort keeps facilities for corporate meetings, incentive trips, celebrations and destination weddings. The Zilara Hall measures 630 square meters and can seat up to 500 people in a theater-style layout. It is joined by the Laguna Hall, a boardroom, the sunset-facing Laguna Terrace, a gazebo terrace and beach areas for ceremonies, receptions and seaside dinners. The hotel also provides event planning, banquets and audiovisual support.

Its Hotel Zone location puts guests within reach of shopping centers, restaurants and nightlife, allowing visitors to combine activities outside the property with the resort’s services.
