Fire Destroys Popular Taco al Pastor Restaurant in Bacalar

Firefighters extinguish flames at a taco restaurant in Bacalar, Quintana Roo

Bacalar, Quintana Roo — A fire destroyed a well-known taco al pastor restaurant in Bacalar on Sunday, causing near-total damage to the property but no injuries, authorities said.

Firefighters and municipal police responded to the blaze, which officials said may have been triggered by a short circuit. Crews contained the flames before they could spread to neighboring businesses.

The restaurant’s owner arrived with family members and broke down in tears upon seeing the business reduced to ashes. Neighbors expressed solidarity with the family.

Investigators are working to determine the exact cause. The area remains cordoned off.
