Federal Program ‘Rutas Mágicas de Color’ Returns to Isla Mujeres

Workers painting colorful facades on a street in Isla Mujeres as part of the Rutas Mágicas de Color program

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The federal program Rutas Mágicas de Color has returned to Isla Mujeres for a new phase, aiming to beautify 120 facades in the Salina Chica neighborhood.

So far, more than 50 house fronts along Avenida Jesús Martínez Ross have been painted, and work will continue over the coming days to reach the target of 120 facades.

The initiative refreshes the appearance of homes and streets, bringing vitality to the area and improving the urban landscape for the benefit of local families, tourists, and residents traveling along the avenue on foot or by vehicle.

This program previously visited Isla Mujeres in February 2023, when it painted 120 facades on Avenida Paseo de las Aves and the iconic colorful staircases of the La Gloria neighborhood, now considered a local symbol.

Rutas Mágicas de Color is part of a national strategy that uses artistic intervention on homes and community spaces in Pueblos Mágicos and Barrios Mágicos, aiming to restore visual identity and beautify public areas.
