A night scene showing an ambulance responding to an emergency, with first responders preparing to assist.

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A man in an apparent state of intoxication fell from a second-floor balcony alongside his two-year-old daughter after losing his balance, according to witnesses. The incident occurred in an informal housing complex in the Yax Balam neighborhood, where emergency responders arrived to assist both individuals.

Minor Unharmed After Landing on Father

The young girl escaped injury after landing on top of her father, identified as Jesús, a 40-year-old construction worker. Witnesses reported hearing the impact of the fall and the child’s cries, prompting them to call emergency services.

Paramedics from a private ambulance treated the girl, who only suffered from shock, while Jesús sustained significant injuries but refused hospitalization despite severe pain.

Mother Returns from Work to Discover Incident

The child’s mother, who was at work during the incident, rushed home upon being notified. She stated it was her first day on the job and that she had entrusted her partner with their daughter’s care. However, Jesús reportedly began drinking alcohol, neglecting his responsibility.

Authorities noted the absence of a fixed railing on the balcony, which may have contributed to the fall. No further legal action has been reported at this time.

Emergency officials continue to emphasize the importance of safety measures in residential areas to prevent similar accidents.
