Cancun, Quintana Roo — The upcoming edition of Exphotel 2026 is shaping up to be a milestone for the tourism sector, posting historic attendance and sales figures. Established as Mexico’s leading hospitality industry forum, the event has already registered 5,500 pre-registered buyers, a 15% increase compared to 2025.
Marco Antonio Vidal Pérez, founder and director of Exphotel 2026, said the business sector’s response has been outstanding, with 97% of exhibition space already sold out just days before the event begins.
National and International Brands Eye the Mexican Caribbean
The international forum, scheduled for June 2–4 at the Cancun Center, will feature a strategic distribution of participants. Of the exhibiting companies, 85% are national — including established firms like Nestlé — while the remaining 15% are international brands. These foreign companies are entering Quintana Roo for the first time, aiming to break into the dynamic Mexican Caribbean market and use it as a launchpad to expand across the country.
“The event will bring together more than 500 exhibitors specializing in export and import products for the tourism and hotel sector, consolidating Quintana Roo as one of the main business hubs,” Vidal said.
Leading Platform for Hotel Chain Suppliers
Beyond product displays, the gathering stands out for its effectiveness as a tourism business link. Medium-term projections indicate that 60% of companies that secure meetings and negotiations during the three-day expo will end up becoming formal suppliers to hotel chains and restaurants in the region. This high conversion rate underscores the forum’s importance as an essential commercial infrastructure for positioning new brands in one of Latin America’s most competitive and lucrative tourism showcases.
