Cancún, Quintana Roo — José Marcelino "N," alias "El Marce," was arrested by Investigative Police from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) for his alleged involvement in drug-related crimes. Authorities have identified him as a high-priority target in Quintana Roo's Criminal Atlas and confirmed he had an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated homicide.
Arrest and Seizure of Evidence
The arrest took place on Avenida 135 in Supermanzana 336 of Cancún. "El Marce" was intercepted while driving a truck. During the inspection, officers found small bags containing dried green herb, suspected to be marijuana, and a crystalline substance resembling methamphetamine.
Following his detention, he was handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office along with the seized evidence. His legal status will be determined in the coming hours. The arrest warrant, issued in April 2023, accuses him of being the alleged perpetrator in the aggravated homicide of four male victims—two identified and two unidentified.
Criminal Leadership and Narco-Messages
FGE investigations indicate that José Marcelino "N" leads a criminal group responsible for violence in Cancún. He is also linked to the placement of narco-messages (narcomantas) across the city, part of an ongoing dispute with a rival faction led by a female leader over control of drug trafficking along Boulevard Kukulcán.
The Attorney General's Office continues its investigations to determine the full extent of his alleged criminal activities.
