Drunk Woman Drives Motorcycle Into Quinceañera Party, Injures Guests and Vendor
Cancún, Quintana Roo — A woman believed to be intoxicated drove her motorcycle into a quinceañera party Saturday night in Cancún’s Region 236, running over several guests and a marquesita vendor, authorities said.
The woman, who was reportedly accompanied by her minor son, lost control of the motorcycle and entered the area where the celebration was taking place, causing panic among attendees, according to initial reports.
After the crash, several guests subdued the driver and tied her up to prevent her from fleeing. Municipal police officers arrived minutes later and took her into custody.
Red Cross paramedics provided first aid to the woman and later transported her to the General Hospital, where she remains under police guard while she recovers and her legal status is determined.
Police have urged those affected to file formal complaints with the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) to initiate the corresponding investigation.
