Cancun, Quintana Roo — Two men were injured in a shooting late Saturday in the Supermanzana 509 neighborhood, about two blocks from the IMSS hospital.
The attack occurred around 11:20 p.m. According to initial reports, one victim managed to walk to the IMSS specialty clinic for treatment, while the other was taken to the same hospital in a municipal police patrol car.
Authorities have not confirmed the exact circumstances of the attack. Preliminary versions suggest the men were shot while outside a home. Another account indicates they were traveling in a car when they were intercepted and attacked by suspected gunmen.
Municipal police cordoned off the area as agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office began investigations.
