Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — The DIF Quintana Roo system, under the honorary presidency of Verónica Lezama Espinosa, held the state election for the Committee of the Network of Captains of Transformation 2026 in Puerto Morelos.

For the first time, the process was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing in-person and virtual participation from representatives of all 11 municipalities in the state, under the slogan “Our Voice on the Field: Social World Cup and Protective Shield.”

The meeting, organized by the Directorate of Attention to Children and Adolescents in Vulnerable Situations (DANNASV), served as a democratic exercise where children and adolescents expressed their ideas, proposed actions, and became advocates for their rights in their communities.

During her speech, Verónica Lezama Espinosa emphasized that listening to children’s voices strengthens democracy and helps form generations committed to community well-being. “Every girl and every boy has a voice that deserves to be heard. We will continue to promote spaces where they can participate, express their ideas, and become agents of change,” she said.

The process was accompanied by the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo (IEQROO), ensuring the legality, impartiality, and transparency of the democratic exercise.

This initiative is part of the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa to guarantee the full exercise of children’s and adolescents’ rights, strengthening a culture of peace, respect, and inclusion.
