Cozumel Night Half Marathon: Last Chance to Register

Runners participating in the Cozumel Night Half Marathon on the island's streets at night

Cozumel, Quintana Roo — With one week to go until thousands of runners take over the island, the Cozumel Night Half Marathon 2026 is in its final registration push. Organizers are urging those who haven’t secured a spot to sign up soon for one of the most anticipated athletic events in the Mexican Caribbean.

The race will take place on July 18, bringing together participants from Cozumel, across Quintana Roo, other Mexican states, and abroad. Runners will traverse the island under the night sky in an event that combines sports, tourism, and family fun.

The competition offers three distances for different skill levels: 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers. The start and finish line will be in front of the Cozumel Municipal Palace. The half marathon will begin at 7:15 p.m., with the 10K and 5K races starting shortly after.

Participants will receive a race packet that includes an official bib, electronic timing chip, commemorative T-shirt, backpack, finisher medal, hydration along the route, and a post-race snack.

Packet pickup will take place in two sessions: July 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and July 18 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at a location to be confirmed by the organizing committee before the event.

The race will also feature prizes for top finishers. Cash awards will be given to the first-place winners in various categories for the 21K and 10K distances, while the recreational 5K race will offer recognition to the most outstanding participants in each division.

Registration remains open at a general fee of 600 pesos (about $33 USD). Organizers encourage interested runners to register as soon as possible, as the deadline is approaching quickly.

With a route that passes some of the island’s most iconic landmarks and the appeal of competing under the Caribbean night sky, the Cozumel Night Half Marathon has become one of the most popular sporting events in Quintana Roo, attracting both elite runners and first-timers.

One week before the starting gun, the invitation remains open: lace up your sneakers, complete your registration, and be part of a night where sports take center stage in Cozumel.
