Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Cozumel is gearing up to host the Festival del Mar, a three-day event from Aug. 28-30 that will bring together cultural, culinary, artistic and sporting activities alongside conservation efforts for marine ecosystems.
The festival’s lineup includes tastings of local food products, water sports competitions, open-air concerts and art exhibits celebrating the island’s Caribbean identity.
Biologists and local organizations will lead workshops on coral reef protection and give talks focused on ocean care.
Community beach cleanup days will also be held with residents and visitors taking part, promoting the preservation of Cozumel’s natural spaces.
The event aims to combine tourism with environmental education and conservation, reinforcing the island’s reputation as a nature and ecotourism destination.
