Cancún, Mexico — Mayor Ana Paty Peralta inspected the new Maya Medicinal Garden Lool Jaa during a supervision tour of Parque de la Equidad, located along Cancún Avenue, where the garden is currently under development.
The space aims to honor Maya culture through medicinal plants that have been used for centuries for health and wellness in the region.
During the visit, the mayor emphasized that the garden will be an open space for all Cancún residents, focused on dignifying ancestral knowledge and teachings inherited from the great Maya culture.
Peralta noted that the project is designed to promote healthy family interaction by offering a safe environment, green areas, and a children’s play space for girls and boys to enjoy.
The Maya Medicinal Garden will house various plant species historically used in the city, establishing itself as an ecological and cultural space that promotes conservation of natural and biocultural heritage.
