Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún has once again solidified its reputation as a hub for competitive sports by securing its role as the host city for Mexico’s premier cheerleading event, the ONP National Grand Championship 2025. The competition will take place on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, at the Cancún Convention Center.

A Showcase of Skill and Energy

Organized by the National Cheerleading Organization (ONP) and endorsed by the Mexican Federation of Cheerleading and Animation Groups (FMPGA), the national championship will bring together the country’s top teams in a display of precision, coordination, and high-energy performances.

Teams from universities, high schools, and private academies will compete across multiple disciplines, including pom, jazz, hip hop, show, and paradance. Cheerleading competitions will feature levels 1 through 7, alongside inclusive categories such as paracheer and spirit.

Confirmed Teams and Competitive Spirit

Among the participating squads are institutions like La Salle Mixcoac, IT Xcaret, Dinastía, Academia Danzarte, Flygym Academy, Copán, Colegio Harvest, and SPRING. These teams will vie for top honors in an atmosphere marked by passion and fair competition.

The ONP retains the flexibility to merge or divide categories to ensure balanced competition levels. Beyond highlighting talent, the event aims to position Cancún as a leading destination for cheerleading on the national stage.

With this championship, Cancún celebrates not only the sport but also the values of discipline, inclusivity, and the artistry of synchronized movement.
